Permeability Criterion: Since the research is aimed at determining the risk of
surface runoff, the permeability criterion was defined according to the land
use/land cover (LU/LC) classes (Figure 7).
There are calculated surface runoff curve numbers belonging to LU/LC
classes developed by USDA Soil Conservation Service (SCS) (SCS, 1964; URL-
4; Öztürk and Kılıç Gül, 2011). Taking into account the ratios between the
triggering levels of the classes towards surface runoff in line with these curve
numbers, each class was assigned by a surface runoff risk value according to
their permeability levels.
