• Developing disaster-sensitive planning approaches and contributing to
all other disaster-resilient and safe planning processes, especially for
earthquakes,
• Determining the risk factors by evaluating various information such
as geology, morphology, climate, economy of the region in planning
studies,
• Setting down strategies for using the soil-structure relationship in
spatial planning,
• Contributing to the processes of determining and re-evaluating an
integrated approach to the Spatial Strategy Plan of Türkiye for re-
planning of the region.
New Building Technologies Committee
• Identifying the basic principles and technologies related to post-
disaster construction activities,
• Carrying out pre-earthquake preparations for the development of
smart building and urbanization practices in reconstruction works,
• Contributing to provide data via Building Identification System (BKS)
for rapid and effective search and rescue operations to be performed
after an earthquake in the buildings with residential usage permits
obtained as of the second half of 2021,
• Application of the relationship between earthquake and structure in new
urbanization studies in earthquake-prone regions,
• Contributing to the process of construction to increase the city’s
resilience to disasters by researching steel, reinforced concrete and
similar building types as well as new engineering and architectural
designs.
Geographical Information Systems and Smart Cities Committee
• Modeling of geographical information systems (GIS) that will allow the
supply, use and sharing of all kinds of basic maps, geographical data
/ information needed for the development of disaster management
policies in areas at risk of disasters in our country, determining
the necessary methods, procedures and principles for processes,
conducting scientific evaluations that ensure their transfer to practice,
• In the process of reconstruction and revitalization of disaster-affected
cities, creating the disaster-resilient and smart spaces, developing
strategies required for building smart cities to provide facilities and
services based on geographical information technologies; offering
