5.2.8. COP contact group meetings (December 2-12, 2024)
A contact group will be established at COP16 on the proposal of the COP16
President on a specific issue that is difficult to solve during COP16 and slows
down progress on the relevant issue. Such groups are open-ended and are
most often formed from a couple of states with strong opposing opinions on
an issue (UNCCD, 2024).
5.2.9. Side events (December 4-13, 2024)
Country representatives can make presentations and become panel
speakers at the stands or pavilions of their own countries, as well as at side
events organized by international organizations. In order to be able to make
presentations and be a panel speaker at side events organized by international
organizations (such as GEF, FAO, UNDP, UNEP, WB, GIZ), it is required to be
keep in touch with such organizations by e-mail.

5.2.10. Negotiations within the scope of bilateral relations
Before participating in COP16, it would be useful to identify the countries
to hold a bilateral meeting, and prepare information notes on these countries.
In making a list of possible bilateral meetings at COP16, the bilateral meetings
