5.2. Meetings and Events to be Held within the
Framework of the COP16 Agenda

Meetings listed in Table 3 under 11 titles are detailed below.
5.2.1. High-level meetings: Leaders’ Summit (December 2-3, 2024)
• A Leaders’ Summit will be held to address global challenges in
combating desertification, land degradation and drought with the
participation of Heads of State, CEOs and other global leaders
(UNCCD, 2024).
• In the event that H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan participates, the
topics given below may be addressed and following bilateral meetings
may be held:
Topics: “Riyadh Global Cooperation for drought resilience“ and
”International Initiative for early warning against dust”.
Bilateral Meetings: “Meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of
Saudi Arabia”; “Meeting with the President of China“; ”Heads of State and
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (Mission);“ ”President
of South Korea“ and “(The list of meetings can be developed until the start
of COP16)”.
