Sustainable Urbanization on The Case of Amasya
3.3.3. Examination of the Post-1990 Development Area

Şeyhcui Neighborhood there is a 0.85 ha children’s playground; while there
are 0.78 ha children’s playgrounds and 20 ha passive green areas in the

Figure 5. Analysis of Urban Green Spaces in the Post-1990 Development Area
(prepared by the authors).
3.4 Evaluation of the Findings
The green areas examined within the scope of the study are located in
small pieces separately in the form of spots. Although urban sustainable green
spaces should be located in an integrated way in the form of green bands, it
is observed that the green areas in the city center of Amasya are located in a
scattered and unplanned way.
According to the data obtained from the analyses; as a result of
neighborhood-based surveys, the green spaces in Amasya can be classified
into two categories as active and passive green areas. According to the results;
it was found that there are 1.79 ha of active and 8.4 ha of passive green areas
in Hızırpaşa Neighborhood;
