The data obtained as a result of the analysis of the urban green areas of
Amasya were compared with the Amasya Central District neighborhood
populations taken from TURKSTAT data along with the urban planning
standards (TURKSTAT, 2022). According to the planning standards given
in the literature research section of the study, it is necessary to design a
children’s park on an area of 0.8-1.6 ha, an urban park on an area of 4-80 ha,
and a neighborhood or local area park on an area of 2-4 ha. In this context,
considering the children’s parks, the existing area of the children’s parks
located in Hızırpaşa, Gökmedrese, Sofular, Bahçeleriçi, Şeyhcui and Hacılar
Meydanı Neighborhoods is insufficient according to the standards, while the
area of these parks in Ihsaniye, Ellibeşevler and Akbilek Neighborhoods is
adequate. When the urban parks are considered, it is seen that the urban
parks located in Hızırpaşa and Sofular Neighborhood, which are located on
the Amasya city scale, are both below the standards (Table 3).
