GPC (Global Protocol for Community-scale Greenhouse Gas Emission
Inventories) assesses greenhouse gas emissions in 3 scopes; Scope 1 – Direct
Emissions, Scope 2 – Indirect Emissions and Scope 3 – Indirect (Consumption-
based) Emissions. The results of the analysis through GPC approach reveal
that the total gas emissions for Denizli for the year 2016 are calculated to be
7,5 million ton CO2e. When this amount is proportioned to the population
of the same year (1.005.687), this means 7,5 ton CO2e per person, exceeding
the the average greenhouse gas emission per person in Türkiye for 2016, 6,3
ton CO2e. The total gas emissions in Denizli constitute 1,5% of the total gas
emissions in Türkiye in 20016 (Figure 3).

Figure 3: The distribution of the emissions based on the analysis
As part of the Denizli Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP), specifically on
greenhouse gas emissions, under 6 action areas, a total of 12 goals and 36
action step, and specifically on climate change, under 6 action areas, a total
of 36 actions have been created.
Action areas have been prioritized in the light of the existing data from
climate change risk analysis and meetings with stakeholders. Accordingly,
these action areas have been discussed under the following main headings
            (Table 2).
