The neighboring cities to the project area are Sultangazi, Gaziosmanpaşa,
Bayrampaşa, Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece and Başakşehir. To the south of the NAR
Innovation District is the Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey metro line and Karadeniz
Mahallesi, and the Tekstilkent-Giyimkent metro station. To the west lies the
Kirazlı-Başakşehir/ Metrokent metro line, to the south lies the triage areas,
to the northeast lie the T4 Topkapı Mescid-I Selam Tram line, and 50. Yıl
Baştabya, and Cumhuriyet tram stations. The metro entrance closest to the
project area is at the Metris Intersection on the TEM Highway. According to
the 1/5000-scale Master Plan of the Esenler North (Topkule-Baştabya) Reserve
Area, plans are underway for a new rail transit line and a railway station to be
included in the project. Upper-scale decisions concerning transportation were
taken into account in determining the transportation routes and main arteries.
There is also a plan to build a Public Garden (Millet Bahcesi) over an area of 2
million m2. It will accommodate a variety of uses, including a museum of world
arts, culture centers, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, indoor swimming
pool, amusement parks, botanical gardens, hobby gardens, promenades and
recreational areas. The garden will touch the North, Northeast and Southwest
borders of the NAR Project Area.
