Urban Growth - Climate Change

which are the external effects of rapid urbanization, they can be defined as
outcomes of urban growth controlled by land use policies (Black et al, 2008, Yi
            et al, 2016: 1192; Estrada et al, 2017: 404; Mandal et al, 2019: 1714).
Accordingly, the aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between
urban growth dynamics and climate change. Push factors of urban growth
such as population and land use policies are investigated in terms of their
effects on climate change. Thus, the study reveals how to reconstruct urban
growth policies in the context of climate change. Through literature review, it
is possible to make inferences within a conceptual framework about the issue
based on national and international publications.

               Methodology

As the current study aims to investigate the relationship between climate
change and urban growth based on the effects of climate change in cities, it
utilizes literature review as a method. To study the current situation related to
the issue and discuss the suggestions made for guidance for further studies,
both national and international research carried out by individuals, institutions
and establishments will be reviewed. Through the review of documents
concerning climate change and urban growth, the emerging issues will be
underlined and a road map will be developed for Türkiye. Moreover, the
synthesis of the essay will be the role it plays in adaptation to the effects of
climate change, and there will be emphasis on the need for urban growth
strategies concerning comprehensive land use policies concerning.
