COLLABORATION WITH THE NETHERLANDS
IN COMBATING CLIMATE CHANGE
Dutch Ambassador to Ankara Marjanne Kwaasteniet visited
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Birpınar. At the meeting, where efforts to
combat the climate crisis were discussed, decisions were made
to expand collaboration between countries.
During the meeting, the Dutch Ambassador to Ankara

mit efforts, the Climate Law, the scooter regulation and carbon
tax.
As a result of the consultations, common views were expres-
sed on conducting studies on technology transfer between the
two countries in the fight against climate change and sharing
information on the “Technical Assistance for the Evaluation of
Turkey’s Transition Potential to a Circular Economy” project.
Cities Breathe by the
CityAir Project
It is aimed to combat air pollution effe-
ctively with the project CityAir “Project
for Improving Air Quality in Cities in Tur-
key and Increasing Public Awareness”,
which is carried out by the Ministry of
Environment, Urbanization and Clima-
te Change with the slogan of “Clean Air,
Quality Life”
CityAir carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, aims to increase air quality in
31 provinces in Turkey and to raise public awareness on air pollution within the scope of the European Union Envi-
ronmental Acquis.
Within the scope of the project implemented during the IPA II period, various trainings are organized and individu-
als from all age groups are informed about the negative effects of poor air quality on human health, and projects
are produced together with public institutions. Thanks to the project, it is expected that health problems related to
air pollution will be significantly reduced in the long term with increased awareness and effective fight against air
pollution.
