The IPA Process was Evaluated with the EU Delegation to Turkey

Angel Gutierrez Hidalgo De Quintana, First Undersec-
retary of the Head of the Economic and Social Deve-
lopment Department of the EU Delegation to Turkey,
Laurent Guirkinger, Undersecretary, Deputy Assistant
to the Head of the Department and Elif Ceyda Torcu
Özden, Environment Sector Coordinator, visited the Ge-
neral Directorate of EU and Foreign Relations of the Mi-
nistry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Chan-
ge. During the meeting, information was shared about
the IPA-2 period, which is under implementation, and
the IPA-3 period, which is under preparation.

Akşehir’s Water is Treated with IPA-I Project Akşehir Water
and Wastewater Facility

Aytaç Yüksel, General Manager of European Union and Foreign Relations and Head of Operating Structure
of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, visited the Akşehir Water and Wastewater
Project, the construction of which was completed within the scope of IPA-I.

Akşehir Mayor Salih Akkaya accompanied Yüksel during his visit. Within the scope of the project with a budget
of 13.2 million Euros, a Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 15,102 m3 /day and a 33 km wastewater
collector were built. The project has the capacity to serve 63 thousand people.

Field Evaluation Meeting was Held within the Scope of
Aksaray Water Supply and Stormwater Project

A site evaluation was carried out for the Aksaray Wa-
ter Supply and Stormwater Project, which is included
in the project pool of the IPA II period Environment and
Climate Action Sector Operational Program. European
Union Delegation officials to Turkey Laurent Guirkinger,
Elif Ceyda Özden, Arif Karbak; Head of EU Investment
Department of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanizati-
on and Climate Change Dr. Ismail Raci Bayer, Mayor of
Aksaray Evren Dinçer and the accompanying delegati-
on evaluated the project.
