The Effects of the 6 February Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes
                                      on the Business World

               •   The  focal  point  was  the  provision  of  tents,  containers,  heaters  and
                  nutrition needs for temporary housing.
               •   The aid that reached the region was distributed quickly to those in need
                  with the coordination of the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in
                  the region.

               2.2. Damage and Condition Assessment Studies
               4  studies  were  conducted  at  different  times  in  order  to  determine  the
            conditions and damages of the members affected by the earthquake. The
            starting dates of these studies are listed below.
               •   The Place of the Earthquake Zone in the Turkish Economy
               •   Online Survey (February 10, 2023)
               •   Call Center Survey (March 7, 2023)
               •   Field Study by TOBB and The Economic Policy Research Foundation of
                  Türkiye (TEPAV) (March 21, 2023)
               In this part of the article, the results of each study conducted at different
            times will be discussed.

               2.2.1. The Place of the Earthquake Zone in the Turkish Economy
               The  11  provinces  declared  as  disaster  zones  have  a  significant  share
            in  the  Turkish  economy.  The  population  of  these  provinces  is  14.1  million
            constituting 16.5 percent of the total population of the country. There are 3.6
            million households residing in the region and the household size is higher
            than the average of Türkiye by 3.17. Şanlıurfa (4,9), Diyarbakır (4,2), Gaziantep
            (3,9) and Adiyaman (3,9) are the provinces with the most crowded households
            in the region.
