The Plan-Cross-Section-View Features of the Han
As seen in Figure 2 (a-b), the two-floor building has a plan scheme with its
dimensions close to a square (48mx51m). The open courtyard at the center of
the structure is 28mx24m. On the ground floor, there are 36 rooms, and the outer
facades of these rooms contain 21 stores. On the 1st floor, there are 38 rooms.
The construction technique of Kurşunlu Han is coursed rubble masonry.
Consisting of ground and first floors, the structure was built through alternating
brick and stone masonry. The main outer walls of the structure are 0,8 to 1m
thick, ending with dog-tooth course laid in two lines on the edge. The rooms
supported by masonry walls and the stores to the west of the building are
covered by barrel vault ceiling. The ceiling of the north stores are covered
with a mixture of barrel and groin vaults. Kurşunlu Han has a hip roof with dog-
tooth course on the edges. There are domes without cornices on the porch,
and over the rooms, there is a roof with a single declination. To the west, over
the entrance the cantilevered part of the building has a larger dome with a
cornice (Contractor UMART Architecture Engineering Construction Industry
