THE PLACE OF CARBON CAPTURE,

            ABSTRACT
The Paris Climate Agreement has set the goals of "net-zero" carbon dioxide
emissions in the second half of the century, aiming to limit the global temper-
ature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this target, it is nec-
essary to stay within a certain carbon budget. Although increasing renewable
energy utilization and energy efficiency are vital for fighting climate change,
it may not be enough to stay within the carbon budget and limit the temper-
ature increase to 1.5°C. At this point, carbon capture, utilization, and storage
technologies will play an important role in achieving the "net zero" carbon
dioxide emission target. This article gives a brief description of what carbon
capture, utilization and storage is, the current status of carbon capture, utili-
zation and storage technologies, and the importance of their use in industry.
