            Meeting of G20 Environment and Climate

            Ministers was Held in Bali



            G20  Environment  and  Climate  Ministers  Meeting  was  held  on  the  Indonesian  island  of  Bali.  Deputy  Minister  of
            Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Birpınar, who attended the meeting, informed
            the participants about Türkiye’s fight against climate change and its efforts in the field of environment.

            Alok Sharma, President of the 26 Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
            Change  (UNFCCC)  (COP26),  US  Special  Representative  for  Climate  John  Kerry  and  US  Environmental  Protection
            Agency (EPA) Director Michael Regan also attended the summit.


































            Deputy Minister Fatma Varank Met

            with Her Japanese Counterpart


            Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Fatma Varank met with Japan Deputy Minister of
            Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Shoji Nishida, who visited our country to participate in the “Türkiye-Japan
            Disaster Management Cooperation” seminar.

            In the private and inter-commissioned meetings, ideas were exchanged on construction works, disaster management,
            spatial planning, infrastructure and urban transformation. As a result of the meeting, it was agreed that it would be
            beneficial to start a comprehensive memorandum of understanding in the field of urbanization immediately.

            Aytaç Yüksel, General Manager of EU and Foreign Relations, Vedad Gürgen, General Manager of Infrastructure and
            Municipal Transformation Services and Banu Aslan, General Manager of Construction Works were present at the
            meeting.
