Alok Sharma Visited Minister Murat Kurum

COP26 President Alok Sharma visited Minister
Murat Kurum in his office within the framework of
his program in Türkiye. Deputy Minister and Chief
Climate Change Negotiator Prof.Dr. Mehmet
Emin Birpınar and Deputy Head of Mission of the
British Embassy in Ankara Marianne Young also
took part in the meeting. Minister Murat Kurum
said after the meeting that: “Mr. Alok Sharma, the
President of COP26, was our guest. After the UN
Climate Change Conference, we discussed the
climate actions, the results of the Climate Council

and our expectations from the 27 conference”.

Solutions to Environmental Problems Lie in Global Cooperation

Stating that the “Global Ocean Alliance” was established within COP26, Sharma invited Mrs. Emine Erdoğan
to support the efforts made in this context.

Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, on the other hand, emphasized that environmental problems are global and global
cooperation is needed for solution. Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, who informed Sharma about the “Zero Waste”
and “Zero Waste Blue” projects, marine cleanliness, cleaning of Lake Van, protection of Lake Salda and the
Ancestral Seed Project, stated that she would be happy to support the “Global Ocean Alliance” efforts.
