332.9 billion kWh of gross electricity demand in 2021 reached 331.1 billion kWh in 2022. By the
end of 2022, Türkiye’s total installed electricity capacity reached 103,809 MW. In this context,
the distribution of installed capacity by fuel types as of the end of 2022 is given in Table 17. By
the end of 2022, the share of renewable energy power plants in total installed capacity reached
54.3%.

5.3 Total Primary Energy Supply
Graph 1 presents the development of Türkiye’s primary energy supply over the years. Türkiye’s
primary energy supply was 157.8 million Total Equivalent Petroleum Equivalent (TOE) in 2022.
The share of natural gas in primary energy supply is 27.4%, coal 26.2%, oil 28.6% and renewable
energy 17.2%.
