With the participation of experts from different university departments in
the initial stages of the geodesign process and the active participation of all
stakeholders, including the university’s senior management in the subsequent
stages, such planning errors could be corrected (Figure 4). Thus, as one of
the outputs of the project, a more suitable place was found for the Faculty
of Law. On the other hand, the realized projects revealed that the use of the
Geodesign web platform is easy even for beginners to Geomatics. Because
the maps could be drawn by anyone, and the system could calculate the
effects of the proposed changes in less than two minutes.

Figure 4. A picture from Geodesign workshop with the participation of different working
groups cooperating for preparing a new master plan in Harran University
”Alternative Futures for Şanlıurfa - Türkiye” research studies were
undergone an extensive preparation process and the results were presented
in the ESRI book series on Geodesign (Ernst et al., 2020). However, definite
results that will change the physical infrastructure were not achieved. This is
because members of the upper management of the relevant municipalities
failed to participate in the final workshop due to the local elections. On
the other hand, the administrative and planning staff in the workshop were
highly interested in Geodesign and expressed that they would like to work
more with this new methodology in the future. In addition, the interest of
the participating municipalities in this new planning approach encouraged
a research team at the Harran University to apply for a research project to
            further develop Geodesign technology.
