most concrete steps taken in this regard. It is aimed to eradicate the extreme
poverty, combat the inequality and injustice, and overcome climate change by
the year 2030 upon the realization of these goals.
Located in a highly strategic geography where three continents unite,
Türkiye, as a country of stability, is still at the forefront on implementation of the
Sustainable Development Goals all over the world today. Türkiye strengthened
the administrative infrastructure of this process with the National Sustainable
Development Coordination Board, which was established by Presidential
Circular in July 2022. Türkiye has implemented an urbanism approach suitable
for crisis periods and emerging conditions in accordance with the Sustainable
Development Goals in order to avoid urbanism activities being affected by the
adverse events experienced worldwide. In this sense, the Ministry of Environment,
Urbanization and Climate Change continues its studies successfully, even in the
time of pandemics and crisis, with the motto “Climate-Friendly Cities Sustaining
our Civilization”, to build sustainable, healthy, safe and livable smart cities of the
future, in compatible with the “Era of Türkiye” Vision.
As a concrete indicator of this, we implement a sustainable development
model in harmony with nature, environment and humanity, inspired by our
history, under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in
these days of launching the “Era of Türkiye” Vision. We put great efforts to
achieve the historical and national goals such as 2053 Net Zero Emission, Green
Development Revolution that we set for the sake of the future of the world,
our common home, the future of our children, the future of our youth, the
future of our cities and our country. We take very important and historical steps
for maintaining the stability and ensuring the sustainable development, as a
representative of social state perception with which we construct safe housing
for its citizens who are deeply affected by disasters such as earthquakes, floods
and fires. We make no compromises in continuing the national development
movement of our country and our cities without interruption, as well as in
preserving our air, water, land, rivers, lakes, streams. We carry on Türkiye’s
climate-friendly green transformation with due diligence. We conduct our
studies in a wide range of areas as urban transformation, social housing, green
transformation in industry, infrastructure and superstructure investments,
environmental protection projects, increasing the amount of green spaces,
combating desertification and erosion, and with a particular attention to the
zero waste movement which was launched under the auspices of First Lady,
Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, and spread from Anatolia to the whole world, contains all
Sustainable Development Goals and has therefore become a global model. In
doing so, we act with the awareness that development should be carried out
with a circular economy model, rather than linear economic principles. We base
