Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change with all its elements and an
innovative management approach within the framework of the “Sustainable
Environment and Sustainable Urbanization” approach. In this sense, the cities
that keep our civilization alive are carried out in accordance with the new
conditions created by the pandemic and climate change, with the slogan of
environmentally sensitive, climate-friendly green cities. At the center of this
innovative management approach is the management of all kinds of waste,
especially zero waste, and increasing the amount of green space, primarily by
taking into account the cities. The green development, as a new development
model, which was previously declared by our President in the United Nations
76th General Assembly is being implemented with the understanding of
sustainable environment and sustainable development, and thus, it is aimed
to achieve the 2053 Net Zero Emission target.
In the 3rd issue of the Journal of Environment, Urban and Climate, which
we strive to address environmental management and policies in Türkiye in
the axis of sustainability, on the basis of green development model, we aim
to present the academic studies and recommendations including sustainable
development and environment in conceptual sense, tools developed
to implement this approach, financing models, sustainable green urban
infrastructure, nation gardens, ecological corridors, protected areas, zero
waste, protected endemic species, use of renewable energy sources in the
way towards green transformation, environment-friendly technologies,
environment-sensitive designs, sustainability perception, historical process,
awareness-rising training and best practices as well as the qualified projects
and implementations of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and
            Climate Change on environment.
In this regard, fourteen articles have been selected for this issue of our
journal, after we received and evaluated them in academic sense. Besides

these articles included in this issue with the theme “Sustainable Development
and Environment” for the benefit of our readers and, taking this opportunity,
