1- In order to establish a foundation for planning the agricultural applications
for the adaptation to climate change in Türkiye, “Steppe Ecosystem Map (Figure
1)” has been prepared for the first time, covering an area of approximately
32 million hectares, and sensitive areas for sustainable agriculture have been
            identified on this map.

Figure 1: Precipitation–Climate-Altitude map of steppe areas
2- Türkiye’s capability in EBA field was increased by means of various trainings,
workshops and demonstrations regarding the planning, implementation and
monitoring of EBA in the provinces covering the Anatolian Steppes.
3- “Strategy on Ecosystem-Based Adaptation to Climate Change for
Anatolian Steppe Ecosystems” paper was prepared for the adaption to
climate change systematically and by using the resources efficiently.
4- Anatolian Steppe Ecosystem experience was disseminated and EBA
was integrated with the strategies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
at the local level, and it paved the way for EBA’s sustainable application in
            agriculture.
5- EBA applications have been implemented in 2 pilot sites in Konya
Province and these studies have been extended to other areas located in
steppe areas. Some of these studies include:
               • Implementation of direct cultivation
               • Construction of geomembrane pools for runoff harvesting
               • Provision of green windbreaks
               • Making pasture improvements
               • Applications for the use of animal fertilizers
               • Construction of greenhouses for product diversification
