Ecosystem Based Adaptation Activities to
                               Climate Change for Sustainable Agriculture

               6- “It made it possible to collect comprehensive analytical and practical
            materials based on the development of EBA strategy” (Ministry of Agriculture
            and Forestry, 2022)
               7- By integrating the EBA approach with relevant programs, policies and
            activities and developing the planning processes and an EBA Strategy in the
            relevant sectors and at different levels, it has helped agriculture as a main
            sector adapt to the effects of climate change (Ministry of Agriculture and
            Forestry, 2022. Strategy on Ecosystem-Based Adaptation to Climate Change
            for Anatolian Steppe Ecosystems 2022-2036)
               8- The most important and final output of the project is that, following the
            completion  of  the  project  in  2019,  the  Strategy  Paper  on  Ecosystem-Based
            Adaptation for Anatolian Steppe Ecosystems to Climate Change (2022-2036) was
            published with the Presidential Circular No. 2022/8 dated 07.06.2022 in order to
            expand the activities of the EBA covering agriculture, steppe and pasture, inland
            waters and forest areas (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 2022).
               9-  Ministry  of  Agriculture  and  Forestry  has  gained  substantial  benefits
            from the project at the central level, besides, other organisations took the
            advantage  of  the  project  in  various  fields,  which  include  Konya  Provincial
            Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and district directorates, Bahri Dağdaş
            International Agricultural Research Institute, Selçuk University;
               Agricultural  Chambers  in  Kadınhanı  and  Ilgın  districts  of  Konya,  Non-
            Governmental  Organisations  such  as  Conservation  Agricultural  Association
            in  Sarayönü  and  Organic  Agriculture  Association  as  well  as  private  sector
            partners such as agricultural machinery manufacturers. A total of 3200 farmers
            and 1500 Ministry personnel who participated in the events such as workshops,
            conferences,  face-to-face  meetings  and  field  tasks  also  benefited  from  the
            project (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 2022. Strategy on Ecosystem-Based

               In Konya, as the project application area, more than 80 hectares of pasture
            was  rehabilitated,  300  hectares  of  conservative  agricultural  demonstration
            areas  were  established,  10000  almond  and  walnut  saplings  were  planted;
            11  greenhouses  (each  525  m²)  and  4x100  ton  geomembrane  pools  were
            established  for  vegetable  production,  12  no-till  seeding  machinery,  two
            mowing machines, seven manure spreaders were provided for beneficiaries in
            order to allow them adopt EBA approach and to encourage them in this regard
