6.2. Domestic Freight and Passenger Transport in Türkiye

Cargo and passenger transport in Türkiye is largely carried out by road transport. As of March
2024, the General Directorate of Highways has a total road network of 68,654 km, of which 3,726
km (5.4%) are motorways.
