               4. Turkish Environmental Labeling System
               Turkish Environmental Labeling System is a system that takes into account
            the TS EN ISO 14024 Type I Environmental Labeling, Principles and Methods
            standard. Turkey’s GEN membership, a non-profit international platform
            established in 1994 to support, develop and promote eco-labeled products
            (https://globalecolabelling.net/gen-members/associate-members /)
               was approved in 2022. GEN is the world’s most reliable and recognized
            eco-label network and sets global criteria for eco-label excellence. Currently,
            there are 38 eco-label systems that have been approved as full membership
            by GEN. GEN, a non-profit organization, carries out activities towards the
            excellence of eco-label applications all over the world and determines global
            criteria for eco-label systems. Eco-label systems that meet the determined
            global criteria are accepted into the GEN eco-label network. Therefore,
            buying a product approved by a GEN eco-label member is considered as a
            choice made for the right type of future for consumers or a sign of care shown
            for the planet.”
               Turkish Environmental Ecolabelling System is conducted under the
            management and coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization
            and Climate Change together with all relevant stakeholders; the Ministry,
            Environmental Label Board, and Technical Evaluation Committee which is
            established for a specific product or a service, as well as other public and
            private institutions/organisation, non-governmental organisations, ecolabel
            user, consumer organisations or other participants, to be invited specifically
            for the context are all involved in the label development process for products
            and services.
               The process of developing criteria in the Environmental Labelling System
            is summarized in Figure 1. The main approach adopted in determining the
            Environmental Label criteria is;
               To compile sectoral data specific to our country,
               To gain contributions from the sector in the compilation of this data to the
            greatest extent possible, to obtain data from all companies operating in the
            sector within this framework,
