                                         ABSTRACT
Mankind has interacted with nature since its existence and satisfies its needs
from nature. However, after the Industrial Revolution and the Second World
War, increasing production capacity and desire for development led to
faster consumption of natural resources and increased pressure on nature.
In this period, the concept of sustainable development emerged from the
intersection of economics, ecology and law, aims to protect the carrying
capacity of nature and to continue the development of states by emphasizing
the concept of intra-generational and intergenerational justice and carrying
capacities in the use of natural resources. The main purpose of this study
is to examine the meaning and norm value of the concept of sustainable
development in today’s international environmental law.
