Where Do Strong Winds And Storms Stand
In The Context Of Climate Change?
Climate and weather conditions seem to be related to “displacement”
proved through ample evidence (IPCC, 2022). The flood-related damages in
urban-rural areas include overflows, heavy rain, glacier eruptions, and urban
overflows, flood/storm related damages in coastal areas, cyclones, rise in
sea levels, and waves due to storms. Cars may get stuck in the road due to
overflows and the drivers of passengers may face the danger of death.
In the 21 cn., there is a temperature increase of over 1.5°, which leads
st
to irreversible effects in mountainous and coastal ecosystems which have
lower flexibility. The melting of the glaciers and the rise in sea levels affect the
issues of coastal infrastructure (like sewage), cultural heritage and food safety
negatively.
According to research, displacements will increase in the medium (5-
10 years) and long term (over 10 years) due to heavy rain, and the ensuing
increase in floods and tropical cyclones. Moreover, droughts and the rise in
sea levels will increase the level of risk. Additionally, it is thought that in the
later stages of warming, due to unwanted immigration from regions exposed
to climate change, a low level of adaptation will take place due to the level of
exposure, which will increase security risks.
Compared with other socioeconomic factors, these new developments are
expected to create a weak conflict environment for certain reasons (increase
in demand for goods and services). In higher global warming levels, extreme
weather conditions such as drought will increase social vulnerability, affecting
domestic conflicts to a great extent (IPCC, 2022: 19).
Undoubtedly, these assumptions are optimistic predictions that can
be accepted by the public. Not only domestic conflicts, but also conflicts
between countries are probable. The forced immigration caused by reasons
such as wars today affect the economies of countries negatively, and the
constant population mobility affects life quality indicators and decreases
social tolerance.
Whether willing or unwilling, the immigrations will have serious effects
on economy, safety, etc., which will inevitably affect the societies as well as
countries. To have lower level risk analyses in these aspects, the negotiation
fields should be utilized and precaution planning should be made with the
inclusion of local and national shareholders.
Conclusion and Discussion
The adaptation of countries to the extreme weather conditions at
institutional, sectoral and social levels is really important. The adaptation
planning is known to have positive effects. These caution and preparation
