the sustainable development approach, the necessary measures are taken to
decrease the damage caused by natural disasters, and great importance was
attached to protecting human health and natural balance.
To maintain a sustainable economic development in our country, the 7th
5-year Development Plan contains certain strategies. The main principle of
these strategies are the management of natural resources in the most proper
way and the preservation of a decent natural, social and physical environment
for future generations. Although sustainable development approach has
become more common, the threats to nature and the world still persist.
However, it is observed that the use of technological advances to solve
environmental problems will lead to great progress. With the sustainable
development approach, it is becoming increasingly important to provide the
integration of all economic and social policies through environmental policies
(Turkish State Planning Organization, 1995).
In 2015, the United Nations ratified the call for action called “Sustainable
Development Goals (SDG)”, which is made up of 17 universal goals, to provide
sustainable development. The sustainable development goals are displayed
in the graph below.
