brought about by climate change in every region regardless of their level
of development reveals the magnitude of the problem and the urgent
need for intervention. Among these happenings are extreme weather
conditions, extreme heat and cold waves, increased ice melts in the
glaciers, rise in sea levels caused by the heat, mega fires, and drought.
Climate change can be defined as the serious effects of the mindset,
“Après moi, le deluge” on Earth as opposed to the gentle view, “Even
if you know that the doomsday is tomorrow, plant the tree that you are
            holding.”
Problems with safe food supply triggered by drought and water crises
has led to inevitable migration waves. However, it is observed that these
migrations are not just limited to people, but they also apply to flora and
fauna. The invasive species in the seas around the world seem to create
pressure on and thus pose a threat to the natural inhabitants of these
            places.
Without doubt, all these happenings show that climate change is not
merely an environmental issue, but rather an issue of development and
security. It’s the very reason why we witness a transformation in our world
with a focus on environment and climate.

This transformation, accelerated by the global pandemic, is happening
on the basis of a green transformation, which could provide alternative
solutions to the energy crises that our world has recently experienced.

Our country, which prioritizes green development, took part in Paris
Climate Agreement, soon after announcing its 2053 goal of carbon
neutrality. Turkey has taken decisive steps towards utilizing its full
            potential to date.
First of all, the primary goal of The Ministry of Environment,
Urbanization and Climate Change (aptly named for the sake of efficient
organization) is to realize climate friendly green transformation, and
by doing so, reach the 2053 goal of zero emission set by Mr. President
Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN and improve the existing practices of green
            development.

For this purpose, in cooperation with relevant institutions,
establishments, academic circles and numerous non-governmental
organizations, we have taken steps to raise awareness, produce solutions
and continue to mobilize efforts through academic publication medium.
