tion of Nature (IUCN), it harbours important popu-
lations of 3 bird species, the Glede (Milvus milvus),
the Raven (Coracias garrulus), the Krtiper’s Nuthatch
(Sitta krueperi) and 2 mammal species. the Long-to-
ed Bat (Myotis capaccinii) and the Mehelyi Bat (Rhi-
nolophus mehelyi), which are categorized as “Vulne-
rable” according to the IUCN.

Helleborine (Cephalanthera Rubra), which is protec-

ties. The historian Herodotus mentioned the grapes,
olives and olive oil, and Evliyaçelebi mentioned the
healing waters of Zeytinli Island in his Travelogue.
With cultural values such as Kzykos Ancient City,
Zeytinli Island, Kirazlı Monastery and Narlı Church,
Kapıdağ peninsula is a candidate to be an important
star of cultural tourism and faith tourism.
