Seismic Isolation in Earthquake -
Resistant Structural Design for Resilient Cities
Figure 15. Vertical displacements of isolators under earthquake loading in X, Y and Z
directions
The ratios of the resultant floor accelerations obtained in the analyses
under the RSN181 record and the relative storey drift in the X and Y directions
are given in Figure 16. As can be seen, floor accelerations have not dropped
below 0.2 g limit in any floors
which is specified in the circular of the Ministry of Health of Republic of
Türkiye However, it reached the 0.3 g limit specified in the updated circular in
2018 on the top floor, this limit was not exceeded. The relative storey drift rates
remained below 0.005, which is the limit set in TBDY (2018) for Uninterrupted
Use (KK), except for excessing in a small amount in the Y direction on the
lowest floor.
