ZERO WASTE
BREATHING INTO OUR FUTURE
The Zero Waste project carried out under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's
spouse Mrs. Emine Erdoğan is rapidly spreading in Türkiye and around the world. Finally,
with the "Global Zero Waste Goodwill Declaration" signed under the leadership of Mrs.
Emine Erdoğan on the occasion of the 77th General Assembly of the UN, zero waste will be
implemented as a model in the world.
Within the scope of the Zero Waste Project, which has been implemented in our country
since 2017 and is being expanded day by day;

With Zero Waste, which adds fertility to our lands and breathes life to our country and our future, our recovery rate
was increased from 13% in 2017 to 27.2%, while our target for 2023 was determined as 35% and our target for 2035 as 60%.
Our emission reduction target, which was announced as 21% for 2030, has been increased to 41%. Thus, across the country,
approximately 500 million tons of emission reduction will be provided for 2030.
Our Seas Also
Breathe with it
With the Zero Waste Blue Movement launched in 2019, the marine cleaning campaign is effectively continuing in our
28 coastal cities.
With the project, 23 thousand tons of marine litter was collected in the last year, reaching a total of 180 thousand tons.
135 thousand tons of the collected garbage consist of plastics.
As a result of our studies, we observe a decrease in the amount of litter removed from the sea every year.
Zero Waste Conversion Will Accelerate with
Deposit Management System
As an important pillar of waste management, deposit management system will gradually become widespread all over
Türkiye by 2023.
In the last quarter of 2023, a total of 7 thousand deposit return points will be served in all our provinces and districts with
at least 2 thousand deposit return machines and 5 thousand manual collection points.
With the works carried out within the body of the Turkish Environment Agency, 100 billion liras have been contributed to
our economy in 20 years and employment opportunity for 20 thousand citizens will be provided.
